Days of Our Lives

Exposed! Can Days of Our Lives’ Fiona Survive Xander’s ‘Rage’ Once Eric Strips Away Her Lies?

If only Eric had come back to Days of Our Lives sooner! Brady might not have gotten as deep into this mess as he has. Because the former priest seems to be the only one actually asking questions about that fateful drunken night, and now, according to this week’s preview, he’s about to hit upon the truth!

Days' Fiona talks to Sarah in her wheelchair after Victoria's party in the Kiriakis living room

“You were with Brady that night,” he concludes this week. “You were the hit-and-run driver!”

Bingo! Of course, that doesn’t mean Fiona won’t figure out a way to deflect and cover. She’s good at that. Frighteningly good.

But her lies are unraveling, and there’s only so much longer she can hold on. According to this week’s spoilers, after confronting Fiona, Eric’s heading straight for Sarah.

And honestly, that’s a far better idea than Xander — and not just because the Kiriakis heir hates Eric’s guts!

Throughout all of this, Sarah has been far more level headed than her husband. And she might have a better idea of how to handle Fiona.

When Paul Telfer spoke with Michael Fairman recently, he explained, “Xander would always rather be angry than sad.”

Sarah’s paralysis makes him sad, but that just won’t do. So instead, “he finds the part of it that he can get angry about and then he tries to smash the thing that he’s making angry. For all of this run of it, that’s Brady.”

So what will he do with Fiona when he finds out that she not only hit Sarah, but she covered her tracks and has been lying to them ever since?

Telfer explains how Xander would react, “hypothetically,” in that situation.

And for those worrying that he’ll try to do to his mom what he wanted to do to Brady — you know, that whole murder thing — you can probably breathe a sigh of relief.

Sarah remembers with Xander and Fiona Days

“It does all kind of kind of come to a head at the same point of inflection,” he explained to Fairman, “where all that rage that had been directed at Brady now has to shift to his mom.

But his whole relationship with his mom has been transformed over the past few months of her being so lovely and useful to him and his wife and his daughter.

So it can’t be that same kind of, ‘I want to smash you with the baseball bat.’”

So does that mean… Fiona’s plan actually worked?

If she’d come clean right away, Xander wouldn’t have rebuilt their relationship yet, and he might have reacted in much the same way as he has to Brady.

Now, though, he’s going to have to face a far more complicated mix of emotions that won’t let him just kill her and move on. And that could not just save her life, but salvage her relationship with her son.

Whether that keeps her out of prison is another matter, but that could all come down to how forgiving Sarah is. And that’s it’s such a good idea that Eric runs to Sarah first with his theory.

They can talk things through and decide what to do. Because once Fiona is exposed, we have a feeling Xander is the one who’s going to need all the support his wife can give!
