We are not exaggerating at all when we say that General Hospital struck literal gold when they worked out a comeback with actor Steve Burton as Jason Morgan. Not only is Steve Burton one of the most popular Daytime stars with a massive fan following, but his portrayal of Jason Morgan has always been an absolute hit.
The entire GH fandom was on fire with anticipation of the return, the social media was blowing up with all the possibilities and speculations of the storylines that could roll out for Jason Morgan.
Unfortunately, the actual return storyline turned out to be lukewarm at best, and downright abhorrent if we speak with passion.
It is absolutely absurd to watch Jason throw away a life with his children just to keep Craly out of prison. It makes no sense at all. Moreover, Jason didn’t just do it once.
He was on the verge of doing in again when he told Danny that he was leaving Port Charles again. The look on Danny’s face was just so heartbreaking.
Apart from that, even Jason’s storyline that’s tied up to Pikeman is just horrid. It makes all of zero sense. Pikeman is perhaps one of the worst-handled storylines in the longest time.
It started off with Mason, Austin, and Cyrus connected to it, but then fell off the screen randomly.
General Hospital once again struck gold with the silver-tongued sexy villain -Jack Brennan. But he too was wasted shortly after his debut. For months he was marinating at Pentonville and then vanished into thin air. Furthermore, the way Valentin’s involvement was written into Pikeman was perhaps the worst part.
Not only did he completely fall from grace, but he even threw away years of love for Anna by planting emails from her to Brennan. Yet, everything said and done, there is still some scope for the makers to salvage the storyline. They need to get rid of the Pikeman storyline. Fasten up Sonny’s bipolar storyline, and write in a truce between Json, Carly, and Sonny.
