The Real Reason Cameron Is Tormenting Sharon On Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless episode for August 2 featured Cameron Kirsten tormenting Sharon as she struggled to deal with her lingering grief.

As he taunted her, she felt she knew why Cameron was stuck in her mind, but he denied her reasons. We think we know the real reason Sharon has him on the brain.

Grief Is A Process

Sharon (Sharon Case) has talked about grief a lot lately. She mentioned she hadn’t fully grieved Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), and obviously, she’s been upset about Cassie (Camryn Grimes).

Even seeing Nick (Joshua Morrow) as a hallucination could be part of grieving their lost romantic relationship.

Cameron (Linden Ashby — who’s back) told Sharon that although he was dead, he was dying to know why he was in her mind with her two greatest loves — Nick and Cassie.

Sharon’s theory was that he’d tried to take Faith (Reylynn Caster) away from her after she’d already lost Cassie. However, he said she was wrong.

Perhaps Sharon has all these visitors because these are parts of her grief that she hasn’t fully processed. While grief never “ends,” people usually eventually learn to live with it.

However, Sharon killed Cameron and then jumped right back into life with barely a breath. Killing somebody, no matter how warranted affects a person.

All this would make more sense if she hallucinated Rey, too, but we realize that Jordi Vilasuso may not have been available to reprise the role.

The fact that she mentioned him feels important. It makes sense that Sharon doesn’t want to admit that she’s feeling grief over killing Cameron since he was so heinous, but it really could be that simple. If that’s the case, it could take a while for Sharon to come to terms with that difficult idea.
