Julie Dove Makes Sense of Connie’s Twisted Scheme on Days of our Lives

Days of Our Lives has a hit on its hands with Julie Dove’s portrayal of the maniacal Connie. She killed Li Shin, poisoned Everett, and made it look like a suicide.

He also stabbed Rafe in the back (although he lived). In addition, she even got Melinda gagged and tied to a bed!

With all the demented things she’s been doing, including having prolonged conversations with a cardboard standee of Li, Dove opened up about what’s going on in Connie’s twisted brain.

Irrational Rationalization

With Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) being next on Connie’s list, she’s almost completed her mission. But Dove spoke to Soap Opera Digest and said, “She just needs to take care of Ava (Tamara Braun) and Stefan (Brandon Barash), and then life is good.”

That’s a tall order for the unhinged woman who is cutting a swathe of death through Salem. (Find out how Dove compared Connie to Kathy Bates’ Misery character.)

In her twisted way, Connie believes Gabi’s the one who caused Li’s (Remington Hoffman) death. So, killing her is payback for that.

The character also felt that Gabi, Stefan, Ava, and Melinda (Tina Huang) were all responsible for keeping Li from loving her.

Despite her warped way of thinking, Dove stated that for Connie, “Everything makes sense to her,” later adding that, “It’s irrational, but that’s what she thought.”

Rage Against the Gabi

Surprisingly, Dove admitted that Connie likes Gabi and enjoyed being her assistant, but what goes on in her brain is, “Oh, but I’m mad at you about what you did to my boyfriend that wasn’t really my boyfriend.”

In her conversations with the cardboard Li, Hoffman has appeared as a visual manifestation of what’s happening in the villain’s brain.

His appearance is unnerving, and Dove’s multi-layered portrayal adds depth to the character that every good psycho needs in daytime.

“It’s hard, it’s emotional, and it’s also very climactic because Connie’s been holding all this rage in,” Dove explained, adding, “You’ll see that she’s shaking and really wants to let it out.”

She clearly has major issues, and if no one stops her, she will kill more people, including Gabi. We’re on the edge of our seats watching this thrilling tale unfold!
