No doubt the Diana of old was a different person, or John Black (Drake Hogestyn) never would have been involved with her-perhaps Leo wasn’t the only one abused by Richard Cooper (uncast).
But they were definitely involved around the time that Leo would have been conceived, and a few years back when Diana came to town she had a positive paternity test. Black Is REALLY His
Supposedly, it proved John was Leo’s birth father, which is something he hung onto dearly for emotional survival; but then later she claimed she’d lied about the results.
Diana had come to town not for her son, but to steal John back from Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and that’s why she poisoned her macarons with penicillin.
It was only after Diana was arrested she took back her claims of a positive paternity test proving John was Leo’s father-but did she lie about that lie?

It seems that the loss of Dimitri Von Leuschner, (Peter Porte) has thrown poor Leo into a downward spiral emotionally, along with guilt.
At least now Nicole DiMera’s (Arianne Zucker) baby is back with his mother so that helps Leo’s self-esteem a little bit; after the horrid experience with Diana, he’s really suffering.
She totally rejected him during his prison visit and told him to never come visit her again, and he said he wouldn’t-but it still hurt!
Leo has both father and mother wounds to deal with in his heart, believing Diana’s previous announcement that the man he thought was his stepfather really is his birth father.
Richard was a horribly abusive man on all accounts, and believing John was his father for even the short time he did helped Leo immensely.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – John Black Is Looking For Answers From His Past
Recently, John’s been looking for answers from his past on other things, trying to resolve his part in killing Konstantin Meleounis’ (John Kapelos) daughter as the Pawn.
But while looking for those things in his past he may look for proof on other unresolved things in his own heart, such as if Leo could really be his son. During the short time when they believed Diana’s test as proof he and Leo had bonded.
Now, with Marlena counseling Leo on his self-worth, which is closely tied to his parentage, might she suggest a second DNA test to give both John and Leo closure? What if the new paternity test proves Diana lied that she lied about the first one, and they really are father and son?
