Days of Our Lives: Which three characters are possibly making a return to the show?

Days of Our Lives is well-known for removing and reintroducing characters on the show quite often. The daily soap has made way for Konstantin’s exit and had previously teased the exit of characters such as John, Stefan, and Chanel. However, the show may see a fair number of entries in the future as well.

In the second week of June, the show expanded the Greene family, Gabi’s return from prison carried the story forward, and Leo was seen sorting through his issues in therapy.

The initial hints of their re-entrance were in the episode on June 18, 2024, and the story has been building ever since.

Which three characters are possibly appearing on Days of Our Lives?

In the show, the possible reappearance of three major characters is linked to Leo’s story. He has been going to therapy to deal with his issues. He mentions at one point that he feels he is not worthy of being loved.

He further explains that this feeling stems from the fact that his mother, Diana, would tell him he was unlovable, all his life. Losing his friend Gwen and his love Dimitri only magnified that belief.

The mention of all these characters, coupled with Leo’s story of growth, opens the door for them to possibly make a return.

It is possible that Leo takes the initiative to contact Diana and arrange a meeting with her, to help his healing process.

However, given that the mother-son duo’s last meet-up did not go very well, this might be an uncomfortable reunion for the characters as well as the viewers.

Dimitri exited the show after he broke up with Leo via a letter. He, then, went to prison. Leo has certainly not gotten over his absence and the abrupt way in which things had ended, has made it all the more difficult for him.

If Dimitri is to return, he will have to get out of prison to come and meet Leo. This interaction could either result in some closure or could lead to a rekindling of their romance.

Leo’s British best friend Gwen might also make a return. If Emily O’Brien’s Theresa exits the show, Gwen’s character can be brought back, just in time for her to be the pillar of support Leo needs.

However, this could also lead to a lot of drama, given Dimitri and Gwen’s enmity, causing more trouble for Leo.

Has it been revealed how the characters might return to the show?

The writers have neither officially confirmed how they plan to bring back these three characters, if at all, nor have they disclosed the episode which might see Diana, Dimitri and Gwen resurface. However, fans have tried to pick apart clues to guess their possible storylines.

Since the three characters have a history with Leo, it will make sense for them to return in a manner that helps his story move forward as well. Leo and his mother Diana might meet up to reconcile, giving Leo some peace of mind. Dimitri might find a way out of prison and return to town, as he has been previously referred to as the love of Leo’s life.

Gwen’s entry on Days of Our Lives is slightly more complicated since the actress playing her, Emily O’Brien, currently plays Theresa on the show. However, with Konstantin’s death, Theresa might be shown the door as well. The only way to keep Emily O’Brien on the show would be to have her come back to Salem as Gwen. Since Leo has already discussed Theresa and his best friend Gwen’s likeness, this turn in the story would not be very strange.
