Days of Our Lives Tuesday, July 16 Recap: Rafe Slips Into Coma, Full Tuesday 7/16 Recap

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 16, reveals that Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) arrived at the DiMera mansion, where she slapped EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) for keeping quiet about Jude Brady’s (Oliver McLarty) paternity and letting Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) suffer.

EJ insisted he’d witnessed Eric and Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) addiction to each other, so he was afraid of losing his wife if the truth about Jude came out.

Marlena thought EJ should’ve let Nicole go and had no sympathy for him now, so she was still rooting for more of a comeuppance.

Once Marlena left on Tuesday’s Days episode, EJ received divorce papers from Nicole and reflected on that comeuppance coming sooner than expected.

At the pub, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) found Eric with Jude and got updates on the whole paternity fiasco.

Although Roman was overwhelmed, he was certainly glad to have Jude as his grandson again.

Roman thought maybe Eric and Nicole could reunite too, but Eric pointed out that he wasn’t sure about the end of Nicole’s marriage.

Plus, Eric merely postponed his Paris job start date, so he wasn’t certain that he was sticking around Salem.

Roman argued that Eric couldn’t leave when he was on the verge of getting everything he wanted, so Eric seemed convinced as he chatted with Jude later.

At The Spectator on Tuesday’s Days show, Nicole lashed out at Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) for all the secrets he kept about Jude.

Leo acknowledged that the whole blackmail situation with Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) was a mistake, so he was deeply sorry for that.

However, Leo assured Nicole that he didn’t know Jude was Eric’s biological son – though it did raise suspicions when EJ paid him to keep quiet.

Nicole reeled over the lengths EJ went to and wanted Leo to testify to everything in court.

Although Nicole felt EJ should be locked up, Leo hinted that maybe EJ had suffered enough.

Later, Nicole came looking for Eric in his old room above the pub, so they locked eyes in a powerful moment.

In Robert “Bobby” Stein aka Everett Lynch’s (Blake Berris) room at the Salem Inn, Connie Viniski (Julie Dove) insisted she took care of Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) by stabbing him in the back.

Bobby blew up at Connie since he didn’t mean for her to kill anyone else, but that was the only way Connie knew to get rid of his romantic competition.

Besides, Connie couldn’t confirm that Rafe was deceased yet – though she guessed his odds of walking away from that were slim.

Bobby continued to fume, but Connie argued this would give him a chance to comfort devastated Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) and help her pick up the pieces.

That led to Bobby’s admission that it’d be difficult since he had to keep pretending to be Everett.

Connie just wanted to be sure their deal was still intact, so Bobby agreed it was.

However, it was important that no one knew they were connected, especially since Jada thought the truth about Li’s killer was rattling around somewhere in Everett’s brain.

Once Connie stepped out into the hall, she recognized Leo as Lady Whistleblower and stopped him to gush about his column.

Leo was glad to meet a fan and asked if Connie knew Everett since she was coming out of his room.

Connie said they went way back before taking off in a hurry, so Leo looked thoughtful over the new information.

At the hospital, Jada got emotional in the trauma room as she bagged up the knife and ultimately sent it off to forensics.

Jada and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Cherie Jimenez) also comforted each other as they awaited word on Rafe, who was in surgery due to an injured lung.

Unfortunately, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) returned with bad news since Rafe had a pulmonary embolism, which was a clot to the lung. Although the surgeons had worked to remove it, Kayla crushed Gabi and Jada by admitting Rafe had slipped into a coma.

Our Days predictions point to Jada’s investigation coming with some twists and turns, so DOOL fans will want to stay tuned!
