GH’s Kin Shriner Is Recovering from Surgery

The cast of General Hospital is currently on their summer hiatus — but instead of jetting off to some tropical destination, Kin Shriner (Scotty) is spending his downtime recovering from an operation!

The actor revealed in a Twitter/X video on July 1 that he was at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, CA. “This looks like General Hospital,” he noted, sharing a video of the hospital hallway. “I’m here for another foot surgery!”

Thankfully, all seemed to go well and the daytime veteran was recuperating at home the next day.

In a follow-up post, Shriner shared another video — this time from his living room, where he was binge-watching old movies and joked in the caption of his post that maybe he’d even watch Scotty on GH!

“Thank God for TCM,” Shriner said of the Turner Classic Movies channel. “I had my foot surgery yesterday, so I watched [Airport] I, II, and III. So, I’ll be watching movies for a while.”

As Shriner indicated, this is not the first time that he’s had to have a medical procedure on a lower limb.

In fact, five years ago, in June 2019, the actor hurt his foot in a boating accident, an injury that required a four-hour surgery to repair.

During his recovery, Shriner was unable to walk and needed to use a knee scooter, so Scootie… uh, Scotty… zoomed around Port Charles on a scooter as well for a while.

This time around, the actor is once again relying on a knee scooter to aid in his mobility. “Not a Vespa, but I can look at it!” joked the star, known for his penchant for the Italian luxury motorized scooter brand.

Shriner didn’t divulge if his alter ego would once again be riding a knee scooter but did share that he wasn’t expected to be off his feet for too long. “[In] a few weeks, I’ll be back in business!” he insisted.

Please join us in wishing Shriner a speedy recovery!
