This was a big week for Days of Our Lives. Nicole got her baby back, Clyde is on the cusp of being captured, Jada, Stephanie and Marlena confronted “Bobby” and the Writers’ Strike material ended, paving the way for a slew of new stories. You know what also happened this past week? Billy Flynn (Chad) celebrated his birthday!

And for that special occasion, Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) had some sage words of advice for her “darling acting partner, Billy Flynn,” delivered as only she could.

“On your special day,” Seaforth Hayes shared on Instagram, “don’t forget to blow out those birthday cake candles, before things go too far. Happy birthday, love.” Now, that seems like innocuous enough advice, until you see the photo she shared of the Horton house ablaze! Ah ha! So that’s how the fire started! It wasn’t arson, someone forgot to blow out their birthday candles!

OK, we kid. It was arson (though did we ever find out who actually did the deed?), but Julie’s portrayer still had us in stitches over the birthday wishes. Speaking of all that happened this week, maybe now that headwriter Ron Carlivati is back with the official Days of Our Lives writers, maybe we’ll finally find out what’s in that time capsule Julie found while renovating the house!

And as for Chad, according to spoilers, it looks like next week will be a big one for him and Clyde as the two come face to face once more. Even better? Clydes got some information about Abigail that’s going to be tough for Chad to swallow! Is she still alive? Is he claiming she is? Or is he just telling the still-grieving widower that his murder of Abigail was not premeditated, despite what her secret journal hinted at.

We’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime: Happy belated birthday, Billy Flynn! Hopefully those candles are blown out by now.
