Heaven knows things look bleak, General Hospital fans
. Following Kristina’s Olympic-caliber dive from Ava’s window into the Metro Court pool, she’s been rushed into surgery so that an emergency C-section might save the baby that she is carrying for half sister Molly and her significant other, TJ.
But what of Kristina herself? Will she be able to bounce back from the shock and trauma of her fall?
Obviously, the show wants us to worry — and worry a lot — that Alexis might lose a daughter, that Sam might lose a sister, that Blaze might lose the love of her life. Do we really need to panic, though?
No. Were Kristina to die on the operating table and Kate Mansi to leave the role that she took on after Lexi Ainsworth’s exit, we’d be robbed of the intense custody battle that c’mon, we all know is coming. The soap is even bringing back Rick Hearst as Molly’s father, Ric — no doubt to represent her in court against Kristina… perhaps with mom Alexis backing her up?
So no. Enjoy the drama for all that it’s worth — and man, it is epic, no? But Mansi is not leaving as Kristina. Hopefully, not any more than Maura West is being killed off as Ava or Adam J. Harrington is on his way out as Port Charles’ public enemy No. 1, Cates.
