By now, there’s no doubt that General Hospital fans are aware of the news that Kelly Monaco has been fired from the show, even though she’s been on it for the last two decades.

It has been reported that Kelly, who is best known for her role as Sam McCall, will be leaving Port Charles sooner than expected. That’s because her character will be killed off.

Because the move has come as such a shock for fans, one started a petition in the hopes that the producers of General Hospital will change their mind and keep the actress on the show.

It goes without saying that the internet sure has had a lot to say about the matter.

Some have even commented with, “Kelly Monaco is the reason I started watching GH. I’m done now. Adios GH, and I mean that in more ways than one.”

“You have made a HUGE mistake. Using Kelly in the promo to welcome Steve Burton back, and then firing her is despicable. She’s an absolute gem.”

Another critic wrote, “Kelly Monaco has countless fans. You’ll see the outpouring of love for her very soon. She’s loved and the reason for watching GH by many! Cannot believe this! She doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I’m not a big Sam McCall fan, but even I can see the value of her character with Lulu miraculously awake from her coma. Can you imagine the love triangle between Dante, Sam and Lulu playing out? It could be fascinating and go on for years.”

“Very bad move ABC/General Hospital. This makes no sense and as a result they are going to lose a lot of viewers. It’s almost as if the producers like creating more drama off screen than on.”
