The Young and the Restless

NEW UPDATE – [7/12/2024] The Young and the Restless Full Episode Spoilers, July 12, Friday: Y&R Spoilers

It’s always a good time for an evil twin on a soap opera, and The Young and the Restless recently had one in the form of Alan’s brother Martin.

Young & Restless Preview: Traci/Alan Romance Really an Rx for Terror?

The whole thing has the makings of a great twist on the CBS daytime drama, and we at Soap     find ourselves both rooting for and against such a twist. (Check out our Y&R questions.)

Yes And No

On the one hand, we’re thrilled to see more of Traci (Beth Maitland), and we love that she’s found a connection with Alan (Christopher Cousins).

Their relationship has been a joy to watch as it develops in Paris. We’ve wanted this for Traci for a long time, and it’s been so nice to see her on screen more these days.

Obviously having a love story will continue that trend for her. (Here’s another Traci love story possibility.)

However, we would also love to see a soapy twist in this storyline, where Alan dies instead of Martin (Christopher Cousins).

The way the whole thing occurred leaves a big opening for the possibility of shenanigans and more evil twin drama. We absolutely want drama.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Is Alan Messing With Traci's Head?

Of course, that leaves us incredibly torn. We truly hope that Alan is really Alan and that he and Traci develop a lasting relationship, which is wonderful to watch.

However, we also truly would love to see there be a bigger reason for Alan’s evil twin, Martin.

Of course, these two situations are at odds with each other, so we find ourselves both rooting for and against this type of soapy twist. It’s quite a conundrum for viewers.

What do you think? Would you rather Alan be who he says he is with him and Traci, making a long-lasting love connection? Or would you like to see it come out eventually that Alan is Martin? Let us know in the comments below.
