Phyllis Summers is a legend on The Young And The Restless. Both, for the other characters on the soap, and for the fans. Over the decades, we have seen many shades of her character. From being loving to nurturing, from being absolutely volatile to total lunatic behavior, we have seen it. And loved it for most parts!
However, the soap could now be heading towards making the devil retire her horns! Phyllis has done her fair share of scheming and villainy for a long time now, but her behavior in the recent episodes makes us wonder if she is reforming.
The advice she gave Summer was just about right. Moreover, she came across as a really supportive and caring mother.
That is definitely something she has failed at quite a few times. So, is The Young And The Restless trying to offer Phyllis a redemption track?
It certainly isn’t impossible. After all, not too long ago, we saw Diane sort of redeem herself and choose to talk the straight and narrow. With Jack Abbott’s support of course!
Moreover, the way Summer Newman has been behaving off-late looks awfully similar to how Phyllis was in her younger years!
It could be that the soap is now moving towards making Summer the Phyllis of the younger generation while giving OG Phyllis a chance to grow a halo!
While we are not opposed to Phyllis’ redemption, we do feel that Phyllis with a negative streak was a whole lot of fun to watch! But let’s see how this story pans out. Because there’s always the possibility that Phyllis would backflip!
