Tucker McCall has been a pivotal character on the CBS sudser for quite a while, reveal The Young and The Restless Spoilers. Thus, when the character was revived in 2022, by recasting the role with Trevor St. John, fans were thrilled. However, recently, the beloved character has fallen off the canvas.
Tucker abruptly left the canvas to recover off-screen after suffering a health crisis amid the Glissade drama.
However, reports suggest that this was written into the storyline last minute because Trevor’s contract renegotiations with the Y&R makers did not work out. Thus, the talented actor bowed out of the soap.
That being said, we have to admit that there is still a lot of scope for Tucker to return storyline-wise.
Also, the exit was written in a way that the door is left wide open for a possible return down the line. But if things didn’t work out with Trevor, could the makers decide to once again recast the role?
Interestingly, when Trevor St. John took over the role from Stephen Nichols, he wasn’t the only actor in the running.
General Hospital alum William deVry had also auditioned for the part. In fact, in a recent chat with Soaps.com, William revealed that the audition had gone so well that he felt certain that he would get the role.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen and the part went to Trevor St. John. He undoubtedly did a fantastic job portraying Tucker.
But now that he is out, could William get a second chance at portraying Tucker? We actually wouldn’t be surprised if that happens. William deVry is an excellent actor and won many fans through his portrayal of Julian Jerome on GH.
