It’s always a fun time when adding a pet into the mix and The Young and the Restless alum Gina Tognoni (ex-Phyllis) recently did just that. The former soap vet jumped on her social media to reintroduce her and husband Joseph Chiarello’s “new baby” Monte Poochiano.
She went on to state that their pup turned four months old on August 6 then sent everyone “big hugs.”
Some of Tognoni’s past castmates couldn’t resist sending their thoughts surrounding Monte Poochiano… Eileen Davidson (Ashley) called him an “adorable boy,” while Jessica Collins (ex-Avery) and Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) sent cute emojis and Rebecca Budig, (Bold & Beautiful’s new Taylor), added, “This dog is adorable. Congrats!”
Prior to that, we first got a look at Monte Poochiano, wearing a festive bandana, when the actress officially introduced the pup on the Fourth of July. “We welcomed Mr. Monte just a few weeks ago,” she had revealed. “He’s a sweet boy.”
For those unfamiliar with Tognoni, she took over the character of Phyllis from Michelle Stafford, who currently plays the Genoa City fave, in 2014 and remained with the CBS soap until 2019, when Stafford resumed the role. However, Tognoni was no stranger to daytime… Prior to that, she played Kelly on One Life to Live on and off from 1995 to 2011 and Dinah on Guiding Light for six years in between from 2003 to 2009.
We hope to see more pics of Mr. Monte and would really love to have Tognoni back on our daytime screens!
